It took me so long to fix my avatar that I was getting worried Halloween would be over.

Hello. Sorry should have introduced myself earlier.
What can I say about myself? Lived in Portobello for 20 odd (and some very odd ) years, near the Prom. I have kids aka the Clangers who range in age from 13 - 21
My mum was raised in Mellvile St ( now Bellfield St ) but I'm the only one from the family to remain in Edinburgh let alone Porty.
I remember the Power Station, open air pool- brrrr, tennis courts in Rosefield Park, salt water in the Baths, Mr Rudge's and Mrs Pelosi's shops in Bath St., the bakers round the corner, long sunny days on the beach.......................zzzzz

Should have said I'm the only one from my mum's side still living here. Pater Soup Dragon still in Porty supporting the local.

Hi, I'm the current newbie. Just moved to the area a couple of months ago and saw all the porty.org stickers in the shop windows. A couple of months later it dawned on me that I should actually check out the website! It looks good, so I'm off for another gander at it...

Great to hear that our publicity dept. (Bob) has lured in another poor unsuspecting resident.

Hello Iain.

Thanks all!
I'm bloody knackered. Just walked back home from the uni carrying a big bag of library books. And now I get to go have the thrill of reading them! Um, fun

Welcome Iain. Rumours abound that it is against the local law to use a stupid name when on this forum - this is totally unfounded and quite frankly a piece of nonsense. You may post under any ridiculous name you choose without any fear of beheading. I was actually thinking of not using my own name anymore and changing it to something silly

Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Can I as a non-resident welcome people to the site??
Cos if you get into it, Iain ... it can be lotsa fun and serious enough for other issues.
I've enjoyed being here since day one. These guys here are actually intelligent (yes, you too Porty!!

)
So come on and join in ... the water's fine!

Very nice. I think you will find that most of us are very shallow and easily impressed by anything under 5kb that can move in this way. No, I'm serious. Welcome.
