Community type choir in Porty

Post by Porty Pixie » 11 Jul 2012, 20:36

Hi all! Apologies if this is in the wrong place or repeating anything!

Is there a community choir in Portobello? If not, why not, and does anyone want to start one?!

cheers

I currently sing with Sangstream up in Boroughmuir. I'd be interested in a community choir here though (as long as it doesn't meet on a Thursday!) I've had some limited experience in leading a group of singers.

Long time since I sang in public (karaoke excepted) wouldn't mind giving it a go.

If you're getting in to community singing in order to meet men, you're going to be disappointed!!

I was at the Muckle Sing out in Linlithgow this year, and there must've been about 80 people there. Four of us were male...

There was some talk about starting a local choir. Anyone interested should email Kirsty Baird (Kirsty.singinthecity@choiredinburgh.co.uk) to note interest. If she gets enough email interest she will make it happen.

I have it on good authority that a community choir is starting in April and will be based in a local church hall. The choir leader is very experienced and a fabulous singer in her own right. I will get more info and post it here as soon as I can.
