Pizza Hut on the High Street

Post by Robin! » 22 Sep 2005, 21:09

Looks like its ran by neds, the moped drivers are irrating by tailgating you. The staff hang about right outside smoking with there chav pals that sit on the window sills all night.

I'm sure if you were to phone Pizza Hut HQ, they'd have something to say.

Definitely agree with the kamikaze moped drivers! But the Dragon Way Smart car drivers are worse and like playing chicken with you as you drive down Bath Street!!

Yeah they throw those smart cars about like no ones business.

But if you were planning on going to Pizza Hut, you would see all the youths outside and put a lot of people off.

Giovanni's on Northfield Broadway is the way forward :D

I have made complaints against drivers from both of these establishments in the past. My advice - get a witness, make a complaint.

In reply to Sandra: ME!! Not only have I almost been hit on more than one occasion by the Dragon Way Smart cars. There are a lot of children on Bath Street going to and from school etc if you have seen the way they tend to drive then I dont think you can say who cares.

I agree with people's concerns here. The other day we had to do an emergency stop when a Pizza Hut moped came speeding out in front of us from the other side of the road, crossing in front of us causing us to stop so we missed him. We had our 2 year old grandaughter in the car at the time.

I concur with the takeawy drivers comments. I also find the Royal Mail drivers a PITA and dangerous into the bargain.

I used The Hut last weekend, phoned up gave my order, they said it would be 45 mins. 50 mins later I phoned back and they told me they had neglected to take my name and address (thinking back they hadnt but I didnt realise).

They said it was my fault for not giving my details and if I wanted to reorder it would be another hour. At no point did they apologise for it.

It was at this point I gave Rose the phone and she went nuts, ha ha. It arrived 20 mins later with a £5 discount, albeit without the cola we had ordered, ha ha, dummies.

To be fair to the driver, he came back with it. I dont think we will be using them again.

My mate used to work in a Pizza Hut. He let me in the kitchens one day

I've never eatten there since (that's all I'm saying for legal reason's)

Much more trust Domino's (one in Clemiston, one at Foot of Leith Walk and one in old town - Nicholson Street??) can see the kitchens and what they're doing to your Pizza...

Who is ordering Chinese food at 8.30am or 3.30pm in Portobello?

P.S. It's not us - we do not open until 9.00am.

Pal of Porty: No idea!! Wish it was me though. Mmm Chinese food. Maybe the drivers are just trying out there driving skills at odd times of day; who knows... I think the worst driver has left as I haven't almost collided with him in a while!
And as for the owner of Dragon Way, and his constant parking on double yellow making that horrible bit on Bath Street even more difficult to manouver. Very annoying. Do like their plum chicken though, so that almost makes up for it

As an ex Pizza-Hut employee....

First of all, take-away/delivery units are franchises. This means, they don't come under as much scrunity from the Area Management as the full service restaurants do. However, the manager of such franchises have to pay quite a lot to get a franchise, so if they ARE found to be breaching the pizza hut standards, they stand to make a significant loss. I /think/ the portobello one is owned by someone involved with another pizza hut in edinburgh, but i cant really remember...

Anyway - I can tell you that they do fall below standard in several areas. If you want to do something, you could call and complain;
Customer Care Line on 020 8732 9384
Open between 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

OR

Writing to us at our postal address:
One, Imperial Place,
Elstree Way,
Borehamwood,
Herts. WD6 1JN
I can't guarentee this, but I was told by a former manager that if you do call and complain, they'll automatically give you a gift voucher for your trouble without verifying your complaint. They will then look into things. As you can imagine, if they recieved a few they might do something.

oooh, I feel like a sell out.
