Pandemic Influenza Project Manager
(Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity for 12 months)
Level Transfers up to a salary of £50,000 per annum (under review)
The Public Health Division has a broad remit which encompasses measures to protect the public from communicable diseases as well as environmental health, sexual health, healthy working lives and alcohol. You will work as part of a team to assist the development and implementation of preparedness plans in Scotland for pandemic influenza.
You will provide advice and support on pandemic influenza to the Scottish Executive Health Department, NHS Boards and the wider community. You will maintain awareness of public health law and legislation and understand how it affects the demands that may be placed on health and other systems during a pandemic. You will also be responsible for building effective working relationships and ensuring mechanisms are in place to aid communication.
You will be educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline and have experience of developing, commissioning, managing and evaluating project activities in a health service environment. You will have knowledge of pandemic influenza and emergency planning and be able to deliver results within tight timescales. Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills are essential. Knowledge of government health policy is desirable.
