Great site!

Post by ColinMcFadyen » 20 Jun 2003, 03:39

Hi all.

I left Portobello in 1973 and moved to Canada with my family when I was 11.

This site sure brings back some memories. Running down the Fishwives Causway, Saturday matinees at the George, the Baths, Figgate Park and the Prom.

I lived on Mountcastle Crescent and went to St. John's. I had Sr. Joanna and Mr. Stanley and other teachers. I try to tell my kids how strict Mr. Stanley was and they cannot even imagine getting the belt for not paying attention.

Keep up the great work.

Colin.

I think this is a poignant little orphan from 2003.......

I, too, have memories of running down the Fishwives Causeway and Saturday matinees at the George, though I never did attend the Saturday matinees at the Baths, Figgate Park or the Prom. :?
I have nothing to say and I'm going to say it.

Thanks Rathbone and welcome back to the fold Colin.

We're sorry we didn't respond last time.

I don't think Colin's really been away. He does post on here now and then, when he's not avoiding Texan bars where he gets poked by stetsons, tramped on by pointy boots and the music is not to his taste. :(
I have nothing to say and I'm going to say it.

Hi all.

Yup, I'm still here. Mostly lurking, enjoying the conversations.

I look forward to the pictures that are posted. Some are quite stunning.

Like I said before, "Great Site!".
