A new challenge

Post by Epykat » 07 May 2005, 16:12

Since you failed miserably on my last two (copper piping and a boat :? ) maybe you'll manage this one.

We DESPERATELY need somebody with a van, pickup, lorry, trailer, donkey, anything who would be willing to collect a couple of tons of compost from the Botanic Gardens and deliver it to the school (free of charge obviously).

We have very generously been offered as much compost/topsoil as we need from the Botanics but have to collect it ourselves. If we can't take advantage of this then the whole doing up the playground thing is more or less off. We've been let down by Standard Life who said they would help us to do the playground but apparently can't get any volunteers so it's back to Plan A - do it yourself

If anybody can help in any way we'd be really grateful. Just get in touch. (Catz, you are obviously exempt from this plea  )
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Will I hire Barrys pickup or have you had umptine porty volunteers in their porty shirts. Think there was a sketch like this on The good Life

You could use lots of our 'wonderful' new brown wheelie bins and tow them in a big line, then perhaps accidently lose them afterwards?

Good luck with your challenge Epykat, its a toughie, sorry I can't think of any way to help

Couldn't you get a wee loan of a council van/trailer, they have gardening people. Aren't you all on the same side?

You'd think we would all be on the same side but apparently not! Council at first offered us free compost then said they didn't have any.... Bearcub, thanks for the offer of your brown wheelie bin which I could attach to the back of Foxy's tortoise which would probably go faster than the average Council worker.
Prombabe, tell Barry we'll give him a bed for the night if he wants to spend the weekend here with his truck.........

The only thing I can suggest is Radio Forth - they often broadcast local pleas for help?
