Don't know about dongles just use mine through wireless at home and anywhere else with wifi.
Forgot to say, the good thing about the little Acer is that its available with XP. The new bigger cheap laptops are only available with vista and if it's not what you're used to it's a pain!

Very dinky and reasonably priced. Any good tho? I've bought one in the summer and It's not bad if you want a compact laptop that you can take anywhere. It's a bit too dinky to do much on though. The keyboard is tight which means if you touch type there are a lot of typos. There's no CD drive so I c...

Mint Oil

Hey there, peppermint oil is best and you buy it from any shop or website that sells aromatherapy oils. Neals Yard, Napiers or the Floatarium in the Burgh all sell it, but you may be able to get it cheaper from a chemist, I think boots sell it. and it's not as though you need "organic" or "cold pres...

how long is the leasehold?

Hey I only just opened this thread, fascinating argument! However I haven't got time to re-read it all. How long is the leasehold porty? It would be worth it if it was 25 years.

It's fine to wear black as long as the bride isn't. Although I wonder how goth weddings guests manage? I think in Scotland we're not meant to wear red as that was what a scottish bride wore traditionally. I've never paid any attention though and regularly wear red and black to weddings. Posh wears b...

Espy

Ok, it's official ! I now have a job at the Espy so I better stop wittering on about it here and get a move on. Lets speed that food up now! I think the owners had read my chat on here and that helped get the job, Well that and my natural charm of course!

espy slow food

I think the main reason it's taking ages is the 15 tables and only two wee fridges and a domestic cooker in the kitchen, hopefully when they've made a bit of money they can spend it on kitchen. I used to chef myself in Fishers in Leith on a 4 ring burner although we did have two grills, it was stres...

compass

The food in the compass nowadays does not compare to the food in the Espy or its own food in the old days. When the chef/owner sold up it was never the same again! Unless they do have a new wonder chef in there; this would be great although I can’t go anymore as they have a ‘no kids’ policy now. I d...

Real Ale

Sadly, Punch Taverns do not allow them to sell real ales until they've been open for a while. Sounds like madness to me, but that's pubcos for you. Hopefully they'll relent soon. I met a manager from Punch while I was there and vented my spleen. Hey there cuth, looks like your spleen venting may ha...

the Espy

Food's coming out faster now, which is great. It's still not fast food but then quality rarely is. Lots of amazing specials. Finnan Haddie topped with the likes of asparagus, spinach, goats cheese or poached eggs. I had lamb kofta with spiced puy lentils, pitta bread and mint and cucumber yogurt ton...

Slow food.

Food is taking longer than most places. A lot of tables and a small kitchen. It is well worth it when you get it. Delicious! Slow food is where it's at nowaday, all cooked from scratch on the premises as I believe theirs is... apart from the chips, they are definately frozen. You do need to know tha...

The Espy has opened now

The Esplenade! Hooray, I love it! One of the owners opened the Roseleaf(?) down in Leith Docks. She's going to do all sorts, I was telling her I could really do with a coffee on the way to Uni and she replied, "if I'm not open in the morning when you pass, don't worry I'm here and the coffee machine...

Cycling on the Promenade

I'm new to cycling and use the Promenade Mon-Fri twice each day to get to and from Queen Margaret Uni in Musselburgh. We are not allowed to park there and have been encouraged to cycle or use public transport which is no good for me, I would be late after dropping my son off at nursery. I gave up my...
